Foot & Ankle Regenerative Research: The Evidence & Clinical Science
Transparent, Peer-Reviewed Evidence for Non-Surgical Restorative Therapies
Regenerative medicine is one of the most rapidly evolving fields in foot and ankle care; Navigating the claims surrounding non-surgical therapies can be challenging for patients. This clinical research content is designed to provide clear, peer-reviewed evidence regarding what modern literature shows—and where research continues to evolve—so you can make an informed decision about your care.
How We Evaluate Scientific Evidence
To maintain complete clinical transparency, every modality in our practice is mapped against peer-reviewed research and evidence:
Level 1 (Strong Evidence): Supported by randomized controlled trials or systematic reviews.
Level 2–3 (Moderate / Emerging Evidence): Supported by clinical cohort studies.
Level 4–5 (Investigational / Laboratory): Supported by cell culture or preclinical laboratory models.
Shared Decision-Making (SDM): The A–B–C Framework
Shared Decision-Making ensures your treatment plan is built collaboratively—combining clinical evidence with your personal goals and values. We group treatment options into three clear categories:
- SDM A — “We Should Definitely Do This” (Essential Foundation)
- What it means: Proven first-line care supported by high-certainty research (Level 1 evidence).
- What it means: Proven first-line care supported by high-certainty research (Level 1 evidence).
- SDM B — “We Should Probably Do This” (Recommended Adjuncts)
- What it means: Strong supporting research showing clear clinical benefit when added to foundational care.
- What it means: Strong supporting research showing clear clinical benefit when added to foundational care.
- SDM C — “We Could Consider This” (Optional / Emerging Options)
- What it means: Emerging or investigational options backed by laboratory or preliminary clinical data.
